There were no new nests here this week.
Last Sunday, Nest #6 was dug; 12 hatches and 85 not hatched.
Monday Nest #4 was dug; nothing…a False Crawl.
Friday Nest # 11 was dug; 104 hatches and 5 not hatched.
Saturday Nest #10 was dug; 28 hatches and 56 not hatched.
We are still watching:
Zone 1 – Nest #26
Zone 2 – Nests #12, 28, and 33
Zone 3 – Nests #48, 22, 23 and 30
Zone 4 – no nests
Zone 5 – Nests #7 (to be dug Sunday), 9, 17, 18, 21 and 31
Zone 6 – Nests #13, 14, 15, 16, 19, 20, 24, 25, 27, 29 and 32
With the possibility of a storm coming, it is my hope that the remaining nests will be safe. Nest #26 in our zone is not far from the water's edge and I'm afraid it would be in danger.
