Menacing Lizards

This is a little off the 'Turtle Track', but I think it's interesting all the same. It also has to do with protecting the wild life on Sanibel Island. There was a carcass of a Nile Monitor Lizard found here in a small lake. This article tells all about it, along with some facts about Nile Monitor Lizards and the Green Iguanas that are living here, even though this is not where they belong.

Did You Know?
In Central America, where iguana meat is frequently consumed, iguanas are referred to as "bamboo chicken" or "chicken of the trees."
(Yes, I thought that was worthy of my Blog. :-)
